Join Christina Rodriguez, E-RYT 500, YACEP and Melba Payan, RYT500, YACEP, two Puerto Rican yoga teachers, for a six-day immersion in practice, rest, and joyful connection at the beautiful Finca Victoria retreat center on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.
Perched on a hill surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, Finca Victoria is a sanctuary designed for healing and deep rest. The sounds of the island accompany daily life here: warm ocean breezes moving through the trees, the rhythmic song of the native coquí frogs, and some of the clearest night skies in the Caribbean. The absence of light pollution reveals brilliant fields of stars.
This retreat is an invitation to remember something essential.
In the yogic tradition, our deepest nature, the Self that abides beneath the changing waves of life, is luminous, whole, and naturally joyful. Yet in the movement of everyday life, that quiet joy can become obscured by stress, obligation, and the constant pace of modern living.
Tides of Joy offers space to step away from the noise and return to the steady current within.
Through daily yoga practice, meditation, breathwork, and time in nature, we will explore joy not as something we must chase or manufacture, but as something that is already present. It is a natural quality of the heart that becomes visible when we slow down enough to feel it.
Like the tides themselves, this retreat will honor both movement and spaciousness.
Each day will include guided yoga and meditation practices along with generous free time to rest, explore the island, enjoy the retreat center’s spa offerings, or simply sit beneath the palms and listen to the wind moving through the trees. Optional excursions may be offered during the week, including opportunities to experience Vieques’ famous bioluminescent bay.
Together we will practice, laugh, rest, and reconnect with the land, with community, and with the quiet joy that lives within us.
What to expect:
• Daily yoga, meditation, and community circles with Christina Rodriguez and Melba Payan
• Six days and five nights at the beautiful Finca Victoria retreat center
• Nourishing meals prepared on site
• Spacious schedule with time for rest, exploration, and spa offerings
• Optional island excursions
This retreat is open to practitioners of all experience levels who feel called to deepen their relationship with practice, nature, and joy. We are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful community for all participants. This is an LGBTQ+ affirming space and people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and backgrounds are warmly welcome.
To support accessibility and planning, retreat tuition will be offered through a required monthly payment plan, allowing participants to spread the cost over time.
Practice on sacred land.
Listen to the tides.

Payments
Because we are required to make monthly payments to the retreat center beginning at the time of booking, participant tuition is also structured as a monthly payment plan.
After the deposit is paid, the remaining retreat balance will be divided into equal monthly payments, beginning the following month. Payments will be automatically calculated based on the number of months remaining before the final payment deadline (March 2027).
Payments made via ACH (bank transfer) do not incur additional fees. Payments made by credit card will incur a 3% processing fee.
Participants are responsible for completing their monthly payments on schedule. If a payment is missed, we will reach out to resolve the issue, but continued missed payments may result in the release of the retreat space.
All retreat balances must be paid in full no later than 90 days before the retreat begins. The final payment will therefore be due in March 2027 for the June 2027 retreat.
After your deposit is submitted, you will receive a separate retreat agreement by email within seven (7) business days.
Please review, sign, and return the agreement by the requested deadline. Your registration is not considered complete until the signed retreat agreement has been received by the retreat organizers.
Because retreat planning involves significant financial commitments well in advance, the following cancellation policy applies.
The $750 deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances, as it secures your space and allows us to begin making retreat arrangements.
If you need to cancel your participation:
More than 120 days before the retreat begins
You will receive a full refund of all payments made beyond the deposit.
Between 120 days and 45 days before the retreat begins
You will receive a 50% refund of all payments made beyond the deposit.
45 days or fewer before the retreat begins
No refunds will be available.
If you are able to transfer your spot to another participant, we are happy to assist with that process and avoid cancellation fees whenever possible.
We strongly encourage all participants to purchase travel insurance, which can help protect you in case of illness, travel disruptions, or unexpected life events.
Minimum Enrollment
This retreat requires a minimum number of participants in order to proceed as planned.
If the minimum enrollment is not reached, the retreat organizers reserve the right to cancel the retreat. In that case, all payments made by participants, including the deposit, will be fully refunded.
Participants will be notified of any cancellation due to low enrollment no later than 120 days before the retreat start date.
The retreat organizers are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants, including but not limited to airfare, travel arrangements, or travel insurance. Participants are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance to protect their investment.
Force Majeure
In the unlikely event that the retreat must be cancelled, postponed, or altered due to circumstances beyond the control of the retreat organizers, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, government restrictions, public health emergencies, transportation disruptions, or other unforeseeable events, the retreat organizers will make every effort to provide an alternative solution.
If the retreat cannot proceed as planned, participants will be offered the option to:
Transfer their registration to a rescheduled retreat date, or
Receive a refund of payments made minus any non-recoverable expenses already paid to the retreat center or third-party vendors on behalf of the group.
While we will do our best to support participants in these situations, the retreat organizers cannot be held responsible for additional costs incurred by participants, including airfare, travel expenses, or other personal costs related to the retreat.
For this reason, participants are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, travel delays, and unexpected changes.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to Puerto Rico. Most travelers will fly into Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, which is the primary international airport serving the island.
From San Juan, you will need to arrange transportation to the island of Vieques via ferry or a short regional flight. The ferry departs from Ceiba, approximately a 1–1.5 hour drive from the airport. We will provide detailed guidance and recommendations for both ferry and ground transportation options as the retreat approaches.
Please note that participants are responsible for booking and coordinating their own transportation to Vieques.
Once you arrive on Vieques, transportation between the ferry (or airport) and Finca Victoria will be provided as part of the retreat.
U.S. citizens do not need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico, as it is a U.S. territory. A valid government-issued ID is sufficient. Participants are encouraged to review travel logistics and requirements prior to booking flights. If you have questions or would like support thinking through your travel plans, you are always welcome to reach out.
